Events in the Workshop Space may vary day to day. We’ll be adding more to this schedule as we confirm more details with participating exhibitors. In this workshop you'll learn the delicate art of modular origami and paper folding, creating a delightful geometric paper sculpture of your very own.
There is something incredibly satisfying in turning a flat piece of paper into a 3D wonder, and this is the magic of origami. This calming, highly addictive and a peaceful creative activity will produce an incredibly strong structure using 30 folded parts.

Athena is owner of Meticulous Ink, a luxury letterpress print company that opened in 2010 in Bath, UK. There they produce utterly stunning, bespoke stationery, from wedding invitations to personal stationery, on their antique presses dating from 1870. Alongside their own-brand greeting cards and stationery, you can visit the shop and print-works in person to peruse their beautiful collection of paper goods and calligraphy equipment. Athena has been teaching various stationery related workshops at the store and internationally, including copperplate calligraphy, modern lettering and letterpress printing. She's a self titled stationery geek and loves collecting niche stationery related skills.

Exhibitor
Abbey Sy is a Chinese-Filipino artist and author based in Berlin, Germany. Throughout her creative career, she has written and illustrated best-selling books, worked on freelance projects, designed products such as washi tapes and journals, taught workshops on lettering and journaling, and traveled the world as part of her creative process. With her Always Be Creating mantra, her mission is to make art more accessible and help you on your creative journey, wherever you are at. Currently, she has a growing creative community on Patreon, teaches journaling workshops, and produces videos on YouTube with a focus on creative and travel journaling.
The Superior Labor Customization Workshop

At this TSL workshop, you’ll be choosing from several sizes of limited TSL pouches and learning sewing, stamping and engraving techniques from the TSL team to customize your own pouch to bring home with you.

Founded by former auto mechanic and leather artisan Makoto Kawai, this lifestyle brand crafts a variety of high-quality everyday tools that promote slow and intentional living. Kawai considers The Superior Labor as a natural extension of his experience working with cars, crafting leather goods, traveling, and curating vintage wares. All of The Superior Labor’s design and manufacturing takes place in a former elementary school campus in the rural and mountainous area of Kaga-gun, Okayama Prefecture, where Kawai lives and works. Called “nap village,” it welcomes visitors to come and experience The Superior Labor’s living and crafting philosophy while exploring the wonderful nature of Mount Hongu.
