Cute Things from Japan

Cute Things from Japan is a small stationery shop lovingly run by two sisters, Ayako and Junko. In 2014, Ayako launched a small online store to assist her overseas penpals who were eager to find cute craft and planner supplies from Japan. A year later, her sister Junko, seeking a career that offered flexibility to care for her disabled son, joined her in this venture. They began their journey from Ayako’s home, nurturing a shared dream of opening a brick-and-mortar shop one day. In 2018, their dream came true when they opened a small shop in Tokyo. However, the pandemic forced them to close its doors in 2020. Undeterred, and with the unwavering support of their loyal online customers during these challenging times, they reopened at a new location in Tokyo in 2023. To express their deep gratitude to their overseas customers, they hosted their first international pop-up shop at the San Francisco International Pen Show in 2023 and also organized a workshop featuring eric, one of the pioneers of Japanese eraser stamp artistry. This year, they are joyfully celebrating their 10th anniversary, looking forward to continuing to bring more cute and charming items from Japan to your desk.
