Jenni Bick started making hand made journals in 1992 for her husband's Washington DC bookstore. Her business grew into it's retail / wholesale business under various names until it went online from Martha's Vineyard in 1999 transitioning to retail of primarily personalized products only, and also began to sell other companies products as well as the several lines Jenni was producing at the time. In 2017 Jenni and her husband, who had joined the company a decade earlier, opened a brick and mortar store back in Washington DC to supplement the online business. During Covid operations on the Vineyard had to be consolidated with the DC operation where all internet business is now conducted
