Joshua Lax is a fountain pen fanatic. His passion developed into the J.J. Lax Pen Co., which Josh founded in Brooklyn, New York in 2016, but is now based in New Jersey. Josh repairs and modifies nibs for fountain pen enthusiasts worldwide, and also makes custom nibs for several brands around the world including, Esterbrook, Leonardo Officina Italiana, Stilo e Stile, and Michael's Fat Boy. In 2022, Josh won Nib Wars, the first (and perhaps only) nib grinding competition in history.
