Collected Moments: Intro to Junk Journaling
Led by Jessica Jovel · Letters to Apollo
About This Workshop
In this beginner-friendly workshop, students will be introduced to the creative practice of junk journaling through the art of everyday ephemera. Together, we'll explore how ordinary paper items — receipts, photo booth strips, ticket stubs, packaging, handwritten notes, and more — can be transformed into layered, expressive journal spreads.
Participants will learn foundational techniques including composition, layering, balancing textures, and incorporating personal paper elements in a way that feels cohesive and intentional. Through guided prompts and hands-on instruction, students will experiment with arranging found materials, adding depth, and creating visual flow on the page.
This workshop is designed to feel approachable and freeing — no prior experience required. Whether you're brand new to journaling or looking for a fresh way to document your daily life, you'll leave with a completed spread and practical skills to continue creating at home.
Come ready to cut, layer, rearrange, and reimagine the paper trail of your everyday life.
